Walmart and Sam’s Club Campaign Raises $62,695 for Shannon Medical Center

Walmart and Sam’s Club associates, customers and members in San Anthe Concho Valley put their money where the miracles are during the annual Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraising campaign.

The locations in San Angelo and Brady raised $62,695 for Shannon Medical Center.  2017 marks the 30th anniversary of Walmart and Sam’s Club working with Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals to raise money for sick and injured kids in communities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Donations poured starting Aug. 28 through Nov 3, as Walmart and Sam’s Club associates at seven locations held various in-store fundraising activities and asked customers and members at the register to help kids live better. 100 percent of every contribution stays at Shannon Medical Center to benefit our Pediatric Unit, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Trauma, Emergency Room, Shannon Pediatric Clinic and any other department that could possibly treat a child.

In addition to the fundraising campaign, Walmart donated a Disney Frozen 12-Volt Ride-On Sleigh to be used in the Shannon Pediatric Unit.

“30 years ago Sam Walton told our founders that his associates would amaze us, and they certainly have,” said John Lauck, president and CEO of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. “I scarcely have the words to express our gratitude to all of the Walmart and Sam’s Clubs associates, customers and members who have done so much to help the kids treated in our member hospitals.”
